Day 6 and 7 were fun and positively gentle after our previous efforts and we skipping our way joyously downhill and ever closer to home. There was a no rain, our packs were lighter, and we thoroughly enjoyed all seven dramatic river crossings. We joked and sang all the way to Philip’s blessed house. Never has a home cooked meal and a scoop shower felt so good.
We prepared our battered feet for ‘one more hike’ (to the tune of Phil Collins’ ‘One more night’), enjoyed emotional chat and bear hugs and finally fell gratefully into our beds.
